The Rise of Flash Video, Part 3
I found this cool article on Flash video at Digital Web Magazine.
I’ve been doing a lot of flash encoding lately for one of my clients, Harvest Eating.com Flash is such a great format, in my opinion. I think it’s the best bang for your buck as a balance between Quality (very good), Compatibility (cross-platform), and Availability (80+% penetration AND a painless install).
Though I will always view QuickTime as king, Flash is a much better alternative to the lame Windows Media format, and the soon-to-be-irrelevant Real Video.
More later on my Flash workflow, but I must mention that the recent upgrade of Sorenson Squeeze up to version 4.5 has yielded a GREAT performance gain while encoding Flash 8 video files.
