I found this great article / tutorial on the finer points of getting the best green screen key with your HDV footage.
Green Screening / Keying is quite an art in itself – I’m learning more and more every time we shoot an episode of the Mac MediaCast in front of our green screen. Remember, if you’re shooting DV footage, I wrote this article a while back about how to get a great key in Final Cut Pro with DV. It starts with lighting techniques and carries you all the way to the editing stage.
