I do the majority of my editing in HDV and ingest using Apple’s AIC – “intermediate codec”. Though for more critical video editing, I definitely edit on a DVC Pro timeline or a ProRes 422 timeline for a better color space. I’ve found quirks in the capturing, especially when using some of JVC’s otherwise-wonderful HDV prosumer cameras.
With the emergence of HDV as a great HD-sized codec in many prosumer and consumer cameras, I’m wondering how all of you deal with editing HDV – put your ideas, tips, tricks, etc. in the comments below.
